Lies Discussed:

  1. I have the right to be angry when things don’t go my way.
  2. Pain and suffering are always bad.
  3. The world is rigged against me.
  4. I can’t help how I react to certain people or circumstances.
  5. I can run away from God.

Discussion Questions:

  1. Tell about one of the best moments/days of your life? Now, one of the worst moments/days.
  2. How do you typically respond to life’s problems and frustrations?   Read Lamentations 3:1-6;13-18.  How is this guy’s day/year going?  What are his emotions?  Now read 3:19-33.  What are some of the truths that help him cope with his bad day?   How might you respond differently to your bad day if you believed in these truths?
  3. Describe a time when you tried to run from the presence, the call to act a certain way, or conviction of God in your life. How did He pursue you?  How did you respond?
  4. Read Matthew 18:21-35. When someone wrongs us, what does Jesus suggest?  Why?  When is forgiving easy?  When is it not?  If we forgive, what does it do for us?  If we don’t, what pain does it cause us?
