Show Notes

Life Group Discussion:

  1. Tell a funny or rough story of a time when your communication caused problems.
  2. With whom do you communicate well? With whom do you struggle?  What are some of the ways you tend to get into trouble with your communication?
  3. Read Psalm 19:1-4a. God’s creation tells us about God.  What message has God’s creation shared with you about God?  Read Psalm 19:12-14.  Thinking back to some of your communication struggle areas (Question 2), how could this prayer help those parts of your life?
  4. Who loves a good argument? Why?  Who here, like Pastor Paul, stirs up arguments just for the fun of it? (even though it’s not fun for others)
  5. Read Jude 1:17-21. What does Jude say is/are the underlying reason(s) that a person stirs up arguments and division?  On the flip side, what are 4 things he suggests Christians do to go against being argumentative and divisive?  How can each of the 4 help us to fight against divisive moments?  (Build each other up; pray in the power of the HS; realize God’s mercy; keep in God’s love)
  6. If time…read 2 Timothy 2:23-25. What does Paul share with Timothy about arguing?  What should we do instead of it?
