Life Group Discussion Questions

  1. Who are some of the enemies in your life? Who are those people who hurt/frustrate/anger you the most, and why? How do you normally respond to those people?
  2. If we choose to complain or retaliate in response to our enemy’s words or actions, are there any good outcomes? What would be some of the bad outcomes?
  3. Read Luke 6:27-28. What are the 4 things Jesus said we must do for an enemy instead of retaliating?  Have you ever tried one of these things?  If yes, how did it go?  What could/would each one of those things do for us?  What could/would it do for the enemy?  Which of the 4 is the hardest for you to consider?
  4. Read 1 Peter 3:9. Share some examples of what the blessings could look like if we chose to follow Peter’s wisdom.
  5. What is the one thing you are tempted to complain about the most? To whom do you complain?  Does the complaining fix the issue?
  6. Read Philippians 2:14-15. IF we followed what Paul says, how could it change the situation we are in?  What could we choose to do instead of complaining?  What if we did what Paul says in Philippians 4:8?
